Cameroon’s President, Paul BIYA has granted a farewell audience to H.E. Kunio Okamura – outgoing Japanese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Cameroon.

This was during a farewell audience at the Unity Palace on 1 October 2018 to mark the end of the diplomat’s three-year mission.

Speaking at the end of the audience, H.E. Kunio Okamura said Cameroon and Japan have excellent diplomatic ties. He added that efforts are underway to further deepen cooperation between both countries.

The Head of State offered a special gift to the Japanese Diplomat – as a symbol of the hospitality of the Cameroonian people, and the win-win relationship existing between Yaounde and Tokyo. H.E. Kunio Okamura will be remembered for fast-tracking the road projects along the Yaounde-Brazzaville corridor and that linking Cameroon to Chad.
