The Divisional Officer of the Menchum valley who was kidnapped on Saturday has been freed by his abductors, sources have confirmed.
Lokombe Derek Mwanjo, who has from Ndian Division was freed on Monday under unknown circumstances as he was received by administrative authorities in Bamenda.
Sources say the D.O was pulled out of his vehicle by 4pm and taken to an unknown destination. His vehicle was later found on the road set ablaze by the armed men.
He is the second Divisional officer abducted by armed men in the English speaking regions of Cameroon since the crisis broke out in 2016.
The DO of Batibo, Marcel Namata Diteng was kidnapped on February 11 and taken to an unknow destination with the government laters confirming that he had been killed.
