The Paramount ruler of the Bafaws Nfon Victor E. Mukete has called on his community to sue for peace amidst the ongoing the ongoing troubles in the region.
He was speaking at the weekend during a gathering of his kinsmen at the palace in Kumba to implore the people to live in peace and harmony
Also present at the gathering were councillors from the various localities that make up the tribe who were urged to bury all their differences and work to foster peace and development amongst the people in the kingdom.
« My palace is always open for you all. I welcome you all here today and pray we live in peace and harmony with all in the kingdom, » the Nfon said as he welcomed his guests at the palace.
Peace and security has been threatened in the kingdom following violent clashes between security forces and separatist fighters which has led to several persons dead and others fleeing to the bushes for refuge.
The situation is preoccupying, the paramount ruler added before promising to work hard to ensure peace returns to his community.
Nfon. V.E Mukete who is set to celebrate his centenary later this year, offered the opportunity for his kinsmen to present their worries and how they could seek possible and sustainable solutions.
