The Mayor of the Buea Council Patrick Ekema Esunge has issued a warning to business men and “economic operators” within his municipality to stop respecting ghost towns.
In a release issued on Friday, the Mayor warns businesses that respect calls for ghost towns every Mondays will have their businesses sealed and be highly sanctioned.
Patrick Ekema issued the realease after the city of Buea and its environs have witnessed unprecedented ghost towns in the past two weeks characterized by serious gunshots.
It is however left to be seen if the population will respect the Mayor’s call given that this is not the first time he is issuing out such statement
Two weeks ago, Patrick Ekema threaten to drive a cab if all taxi drivers respected ghost town calls only but days later the city was ghosted followed by exchange of fire between security forces and armed men
