Nigerian Defence and Security Forces have arrived in Cameroon ahead of celebrations of the National Unity Day on May 20.
The Nigerian Forces are this year’s special guest of the Head of State Paul Biya at the National Day celebrations at the 20 May Boulevard.
The invitation by the Cameroon government is a sign of the collaboration and military cooperation that exists between both nations, authorities say.
Relations between Cameroon and Nigeria have been at a high since Mohammadou Buhari came to power with lines between Yaounde and Abuja strengthened.
Early this year Nigeria was instrumental in the arrest of 46 Cameroonian activists in Nigeria and sent back to Cameroon to face the law though they have been held incommunicado.
A runaway Cameroon Minister of Water and Energy Basile Atangana Kouna was arrested by Nigerian security Forces and handed over to Cameroonian authorities.
Both nations have mounted a common front at the borders in the North as they fight against the Boko Haram terrorists along the region.
