Nigeria’s football coach sent to spy on Cameroon in Russia

Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles coach has reportedly been sent on a spying mission in Russia.

According to Pulse news Nigeria, the Nigeria Football Federation sent Rohr to Russia to spy on Cameroon ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will first face Cameroon in Uyo in late August before they travel for the return leg in Yaounde.


Ahead of the game, the NFF have reportedly sent Rohr to Russia to spy on Cameroon who are playing in the FIFA Confederation Cup.

Cameroon are playing at the tournament as African Champions; they lost their opening game to Chile 2-0 and and drew 1-1 with Australia on Thursday, June 22.

After Super Eagles shocking home loss to South Africa in a 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier the NFF are leaving no stone untouched for the World Cup qualifiers against Cameroon.

“Rohr will be at the Confederations Cup as part of the team’s preparations for the matches against Cameroon,” NFF General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi is quoted to say by FC Naija.

“We are not leaving any chances as far as that match is concerned. We are ready to put in every effort as we have done in the past to make sure that we consolidate on the group table by beating Cameroon.”

Rohr watched Cameroon at the 2017 AFCON where the emerged as champions.
