The direct selling company made food donations in Mali, Niger, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Uganda, Tanzania and Cameroon.
Last month, QNET organised several donations across Africa, in conjunction with the Holy Month of Ramadan.
In Mali, a donation was made to SOS Villages d’Enfants: they support 3,800 children and young people who are mainly orphans, abandoned children, and children with parents in poverty. QNET donated 50kg rice, 50kg sugar, 525kg milk bags and 20 cartons of spaghetti.
In Niger, 200 children at SOS Villages d’Enfants received a bag filled with rice, pasta, milk and sugar.
In Guinea, food bags were distributed to retired police and security. The event was attended by the Secretary General and the Chief of Cabinet of Guinean Minister of Security.
In Burkina Faso, 200 food bags were donated (each bag got 2kg rice, 2kg sugar, 1kg dates) to AAEMB (Association of muslim students in Burkina).
In Cameroon, a delegation of staff and volunteers from QNET displayed solidarity by offering food bags to the poor of the Briqueterie neighbourhood in Yaoudé and orphan children in Douala.
In Uganda, the team worked with an Imam to distribute food bags to a village of 80 families who were struggling for food this Ramadan season.
In Tanzania, QNET organised a charity Iftar at a local mosque in Dar Es Salaam for over 1, 500 people from underprivileged backgrounds. The Iftar was organised by QNET and local leaders who went out of their way to make this day memorable.
In Côte d’Ivoire, QNET staff and IRs visited the l’Institut National de Promotion des Aveugles de Yopougon, a school for visually impaired children in Yopougon, and offered food bags.
This Ramadan donation is part of the Corporate Social Responsiblity (CSR) initiative of QNET that reflects its core philosophy of RYTHM (or Raise Yourself To Help Mankind). Through this initiative, QNET, a global leader in the field of direct selling, with a strong presence in Africa, aims to provide food for the underprivileged to break their fast.
Charity is an integral part of Ramadan and many initiatives spring up during the month-long celebration. It is crucial to donate food to those in need, to ensure they can break their fast with a proper meal. At QNET, we believe it is our responsibility.
