Retired gendarme killed in Batibo

The corpse of a retired gendarme officer was discovered on Thursday morning in a state of decomposition after he was reportedly killed by suspected separatist fighters.

Sources say he was set ablaze beside his car after by separatists fighters who suspect him of conniving with security forces to track them down.

Sources say, the fighters accused the gendarme of giving his car out to soldiers to use and track down suspected armed men in the area.

He was thus targeted and picked up on Tuesday night, shot and set ablaze before his corpse was dumped beside his car around the entrance to Guzang village, around Batibo.
