SADC chair hails ‘free and fair’ Lesotho elections

King Mswati III of Swaziland who is chairman of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) has applauded Lesotho for peace elections.It was evident that the elections that were held on Tuesday were “free and fair” as the results have been accepted without altercation, he said.
Lesotho’s opposition leader of the All Basotho Convention, Thomas Thabane, won the election and is now working to form a coalition government.
His party secured 48 parliamentary seats, while current Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili won 30 seats.
King Mswati spoke on Thursday upon his arrival in Swaziland, after a four-day trip to Equatorial Guinea where he attended the 75th birthday party for President Teodoro Obiang Mbasogo.
