Saudi investors expected in Burkina

A delegation of Saudi businessmen is expected in Ouagadougou later this year to meet with the economic community in Burkina Faso and explore investment opportunities in the country, the Presidency revealed on Tuesday.The announcement follows a 26 March meeting involving Burkinabe President Rock Marc Kabore and the president of the Saudi Fund for Development, Ahmed Al Khatib, who was on visit to Burkina Faso.

Saudi business tycoon, Yousif Othman Al Qasabi is planning to invest CFA 16 billion in local poultry farming while some other Saudi-based firms have expressed interest in the energy and cotton processing sectors.

During his first official visit to Saudi Arabia in 2016, President Kabore sealed several agreements for the financing of Donsin airport, the construction of dams, and the asphalting of the RN23 (Ouahigouya-Djibo) highway.
