The victims were killed on Sunday during an attack on the Nsongwa gendarmerie brigade. Four other gendarmes were wounded during the attack.
Two student gendarmes were killed Sunday, March 11, in an assault on the Nsongwa gendarmerie brigade in the North West region.
According to security sources, the gendarmes were taken unaware when they left for the toilet before they were attacked by armed men.
The other gendarmes – including the chief of post – present on the scene shut themselves in the brigade while waiting for the reinforcement which arrived a few hours later. The secessionists had, however, already taken off.
The security forces also recorded four casualties and lost two Fal and AK47 guns.
