Sudan’s new rulers remove envoy to Rwanda

Sudan’s new military government dismisses envoy to Rwanda Abdalla Hassan Eisa Bushara who assumed office in January last year, an diplomatic source disclosed to APA in Kigali on Thursday.Others fired are envoys to Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Thailand, U.S and Egypt, the source said.

Sudan’s envoy to Rwanda was sacked after the Sudanese President  Omar Hassan al-Bashir was ousted earlier this month by military officers after 30 years in power

The army which took power has said it will now supervise a two-year transitional period followed by elections, according to the reports.

The takeover in Sudan capped a season of protest and political turmoil in North Africa, recalling the 2011 Arab Spring uprisings that toppled autocratic leaders in Tunisia, Egypt, Libya and Yemen.

In Algeria, protests that started in February this year forced North Africa’s longest-serving leader, Abdelaziz Bouteflika, out of power this month
