Taiwan donates US$2.8m for Swaziland projects

Ambassador for the Republic of China on Taiwan, Thomas Chen on Monday gave US$2.8 million to the government of Swaziland for implementation of seven projects.Chen said the money would, among other projects, go towards the rehabilitation of Mbabane Government Hospital, construction of portable water supply and sanitation, completion of solar powered LED lighting system, and procurement of equipment and furniture for science laboratories at schools.

Principal secretary for Economic Planning and Development, Bertram Stewart, who received the funds on behalf of the Swazi government, welcomed the support from Taiwan.

Taiwan is one of the biggest donors to Swaziland, especially in development and the health sectors.
