Tanzania’s Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa has on Tuesday warned business people against exporting food produce on grounds that the country lacked enough food.He cautioned that those who will go against the directive will face stringent measures.

He said this on Tuesday in Dar es Salaam when speaking to business community.

“There has been an influx of exporting food crops in the borders especially at Mwanga, Tarakea and Holili borders which could cause country to face food shortage,” he said.

In view of this he called on the public to seek legal authorization.

He however noted that the government will only authorize for blended food stuffs like flour, and not maize.
