Three Congolese medical doctors have been arrested in connection with the murder of Cameroonian born Dr Richard Valery Mouzoko, reportedly shot dead last April in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
According to reports, the Congolese police has confirmed the detention of three amongst the four doctors accused of having a hand in the attack against a team of doctors engaged in the fight against Ebola which led to the death of Dr Richard Valery Mouzoko.
Identified as doctors Hippolyte Sangala Kisako, Aurelien Luendo Paluku and Gilbert Kasereka, they are according to Lieutenant Colonel Jean Baptiste Kumbu Ngoma, Military Prosecutor of Butembo, the moral actors of the attack.
The three doctors are currently in the custody of the Congolese justice and will be prosecuted for terrorism and criminal association.
On the 19 of April, 2019, Cameroonian Dr Richard Valery Mouzoko, World Health Organisation personnel was shot dead in an attack on a hospital in Butembo, DR Congo while he was reported to be treating Ebola virus patients.
