Unusual Program For 2022 20th May Celebration

After two years of suspension due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the national unity feast will be celebrated this year following instructions from president Paul Biya.

Back to normalcy; almost. That is how we can describe the celebration of the 20th May this year.

Following an instruction of President Paul Biya, head of State, the Civil cabinet director, Samuel Mvondo’o Ayolo signed a correspondence underscoring a relaunch of the organisation of the National unity feast as from the 50th edition.

With this coming back, the Civil cabinet director indicates that there will be some specificity. They include the return of the match past for civilians which will last only for 45 minutes in respect of barrier measures. But as far as the reception usually organised at the Unity palace, it remains cancelled.
It also prescribes the organisation of arms ceremony as far as possible.

Within the frame of the 20th May, a preparatory meeting took place on April 7, 2022 at the Mfoundi Divisional officer bureau. Representatives of political parties appearing at the National assembly who wished to match were amidst those invited. Presided by the Mfoundi Divisional officer, Emmanuel Mariel Djikindet, they brainstormed the different performance modalities regarding the match program .
