War in Ukraine troubles Cameroonians home and abroad

Cameroonians in Ukraine

Since the beginning of Russia invasion, many Cameroonians are trapped in the city of Kherson, besieged by Russian forces. Their families plead authorities to act.

Over 20,000 Cameroonian students are in limbo in Ukraine, with Cameroonian authorities yet to react following today’s early morning Russian invasion of the European nation.

African countries like Ghana and Nigeria have already reached out to their citizens in Kyiv and other parts of Ukraine for an evacuation strategy.

With over 40 deaths already recorded today alone following the attacks, Cameroonians in Ukraine are growing restless about their safety.

Hundreds of Cameroonian families that traveled to the war-hit nation have also remained stranded with no way out.

Mafany George is a student from the university of Knu – Ukraine he reports to Journal du Cameroon that he barely has refuge for protection «  Since the war started I have moved from one camp to the other ; some of my mates succeeded to cross to Poland but I’m still stocked her »

Cameroonians in Ukraine have reached out to the Government and told them they must act now to avert any disasters. “They have to act now… Protect Cameroonian citizens as soon as possible,” stranded Cameroonians have insisted.
